The Eastern Cape Rural Development agency (ECRDA) is a schedule 3c entity in terms of the public finance management act (PFMA). It was established as a result of two public entities, namely, the Eastern Cape Rural Finance Corporation (ECRFC) and Asgisa – Eastern Cape (pty) ltd. ECRDA has a dedicated focus on formulating, promoting, and ensuring the implementation of a comprehensive integrated rural development strategy for the Eastern Cape.
The organisation has always based business dealings on paper and
during lockdown they were forced to digitalise and put most of required forms & reports online.
This meant that a redesign of their website must be a priority, this also
meant that their corporate identity needed a polish.
Their website is a data bank kind of website so it was vital to re structure and re-design the menu so that the users find it easy to navigate and to reach their end goal.
Their main pillars are programmes and they give a brief overview of what each programme entails and how one can get funding or help.
To keep up with the transparency of the organisation, the media office had to be dominantly visible on the landing page on the new design.
The website’s most visited page, easily because it’s packed with opportunities to trade with this organisation. Design for this page was another emphasis point being a place where users interact most with the website.
